S/V PEREGRINE wings her way into the Opua Bay of Islands Marina with an inventory of things that need to be fixed on the 10 day eventful crossing from Vuda, Fiji leaving Weds 11:00 am and arriving into Opua, NZ 10:30 Friday am. Frig not working, bow thruster not working, cracks in the davit that holds the dingy up, small dent in the bow and teak from the anchor bashing when we were bashing even though it was very secured, major spring cleaning to do and a sense of accomplishment that is euphoric. We are next to Plan Sea, our buddies, and also Joanna is here as well. So far this is all we know. Praise the Heavens we are safe and sound. Thank you all for following our journey, your support has gotten us through the tough times, and now that we are safe, LET'S PARTY:):):)

Winds SS 10-15 knots, boat speed 5.3 knots, heading 190T, 1 meter seas SSW, 30% cloud coverage. We have finally got into the high and are now feeling some relief..it has been an extremely rough 2 days, yet I think we are in the clear now to finish our crossing to Opua. We have 150 miles to go and should be in port by friday afternoon. We will be getting some northerly winds that will pick our speed up and have a fabulous finish to a mixed bag crossing. Life is good and The Pair of Grins have their Grins back:):)

Winds SS 20 knots, boat speed 5.8 knots, heading 188T, 3 meter seas SSW 3 meter swells SSE, 50% cloud coverage. It's nuts out here, have you seen Urban Cowboy with John Travolta, that's what this is out here bronco bull riding, we have to bash because we need to get in by friday to mix the next big front coming in on Fri midnight. Just plan f&#king goofy..and that's the truth. We are about to come into a high so things should calm down by tomorrow midday or hopefully sooner. In the mean time we are holding on tight and the galley is closed...

Winds N 3 knots, boat speed 5.8 knots, heading 187T, flat seas, 5% cloud coverage. We're playing Dodge Boat, as we dodged a low front north of us by getting below it, and will be dodging a low front south of us by staying north of it and letting it pass at around 29 degrees south. Yesterday full sail, today no sails...The Pacific Ocean is now a giant swimming pool that our boat fits in...:) We're not swimming though...:) All is Grand on Board in the Grand scheme of things.

Winds N 3 knots, boat speed 5.8 knots, heading 187T, flat seas, 5% cloud coverage. We're playing Dodge Boat, as we dodged a low front north of us by getting below it, and will be dodging a low front south of us by staying north of it and letting it pass at around 29 degrees south. Yesterday full sail, today no sails...The Pacific Ocean is now a giant swimming pool that our boat fits in...:) We're not swimming though...:) All is Grand on Board in the Grand scheme of things.

Winds ESE 10 knots, boat speed 5 1/2 knots, heading 195T, small waves, maybe 1/2 ft from E. We're full sail on a closed reach, having such a smooth ride, the wind directions are lovely really. We are a bull's eye in a 10 miles radius circle, which clearly portrays our planet's roundness. The water is so blue, and the skies are blue and white, my favorite combination...we have not seen a sail boat at all, yet we know some are out there:):):) All good on board...peace and quiet...fantastic.

Winds E 5 knots, boat speed 5 1/2 knots, heading 190T, small waves, maybe 1/2 ft from E. Second night watch went super,no problems, great sunrise, and also nice and warm breezes. No moon the stars were amazing..not a boat in sight. Traveled 125 miles second day...all is delightful on board, enjoying the peace and quiet:):)

Winds E 12 knots, boat speed 5 knots, heading 180T, small waves, maybe 1 1/2 ft from ENE. First night watch went super,no problems, great sunrise, and also nice and warm breezes. No moon the stars were amazing..not a boat in sight. Traveled 120 first day...all is delightful on board, enjoying the peace and quiet:):)

set sail for Opua this morning at 11:00am, conditions couldn't be kinder, E 15 knot winds, 180 heading, under one meter seas, 10% cloud coverage, traveling 6 knots...loving life, miss Fiji already, all is well on board.

The wings of The Peregrine B have landed in the North Bay of Waya named Nalauwaki. Its raining....yet this bay protects us from the 1 meter west swells, so is sure feels swell to be protected from the swells. Great internet here and having a fine rest.

anchored off vuda awaiting check in we made it, wow what a wild toads ride...2 days fantastic 6 days yikes made it in 8 days and 4 hours came in almost a day ahead of schedule. we are safe and well and so happy to be in the Bula Country of Kindness...

Wind is 22knts E 3 Meter Rolling and confused seas 7 second periods, had the full moon last night just fabulous, this has been great at night can see everything love that full moon tired crew on board 60 nautical miles to go to get to vuda, will be anchoring by 5:00pm.

Wind is 18knts ESE 2 Meter Rolling and confused seas 7 second periods, had two great days of fine sailing and now its back to the high seas for the next couple days on monday night we will have the full moon, this has been great at night can see everything love that full moon all is grand on board getting alot of exercise trying to get around the boat so its all good but those gusts man are those gusts something else the boat shakes rattles and rolls...no doubt about it

15 knts SSE winds 1 meter confused seas with 8 second interval all is grand on board 400 nautical miles to go will be in vuda for sure by weds and maybe tues yay)

motoring along nicely, peregrine is on a heading straight towards the abandoned boat Platino, she is 1220 nm in front of us by last report by tomorrow we will be in that area and with the updated position from Peter Mott we will have more information. all is well on board, we are a happy pair of grins..

and many many buddy boats we are all going to see each other out there, because if its going to happen its going to happen out there....per captain Bill

After 5 going away parties and 2 provisioning parties we have launched and are now underway on our way to Vuda, Fiji. 1100 Nautical Miles and

OUR WINDOW HAS COME IN:):):)
