Saw incredible 3 day ancient festival on Ambrym island in Vanuatu. 13 boats here at Nopul village. Have had 3 earthquakes, one very scary when we were all scrambling to get out of a rickety building on a cliff. Hike up to a volcano rim tomorrow. Been very rainy for several days. Clear today and gusty. Having a great time.
Lovely to read your report
Still in Port Vila, Vanuatu, but took a small plane to Pentecost Island where we saw the incredible land diving and a fantastic waterfall. Fun hikes and swims. Also drank Kava, yuk!
We are on a mooring in Port Vila after two weeks of cruising 3 other islands. Maestro is here with Len Erin and Trenton, a great surprise for us. Touring Efate the island today in a fun van and then a jazz barbecue.
Still anchored in Port Resolution in Tanna. Visited the volcano and it was absolutely incredible. Getting a lot of ash on the boat, wishing for rain now. Locals in the small village are very friendly. Three other boats here we know. Will have a potluck on the beach today.
Looks like a amazing place
We are anchored at Port Resolution Bay on Tanna right next to Yasur Volcano and heading up to see the Volcano today. All is well on board. Exciting and adventurous!!

S/V PEREGRINE is successfully in Vanuatu after 6 days at sea. We ran into 12 hours of 4 meter seas and 40 knot winds, and for the rest of the trip we had fair seas. We made the crossing in 6 days two days earlier than expected because the weather and seas were in our favor. Our satellite connection was out for a few days, of course when we needed it the most so this is why our update on YIT is so far behind the dates that we actually did come in. We arrived on Sunday at 3:00pm and customs checked us in right away because they were here for a cruise ship coming in on Monday. Now it is raining for a few days before we go to Tanna and see the live and active volcano.

S/V PEREGRINE Not much wind, motor sailing, calm seas, and we are able to be above the front coming in. It will be just below us, so we are staying focused to make sure we are above and out of harms way. We will be in port by June 3, 2 days earlier than expected. All is well on board. Bill had a great Bday, I made him a TBone steak and he loved it.
Good speed - great to hear

S/V PEREGRINE begins the 9 day sail to Vanuatu on Monday at 5:00 pm New Zealand time.
we're traveling at 6.5 knots on a 332 heading. We have traveled roughly 135 Nautical miles of our 950 nautical mile trip.
The weather conditions are clear, rolling seas with 1/2 to 1 SE meter seas. Happy the seas are not so big, yet the rolling can be annoying.
Today is Bill's Birthday. Happy Birthday to Bill. He is 68 years old today. All else is grand on board hoping to make a nice T bone steak dinner for the birthday boy...seas permitting...
Happy Belated Birthday Bill!!
Nice departure! Hope
Waiting for a weather window, hopefully Tuesday.
Holding out in Opua, provisioned for anything. Destination Vanuatu
Hope you have a good crossing
Thank you, looking forward to

S/V PEREGRINE wings her way into the Opua Bay of Islands Marina with an inventory of things that need to be fixed on the 10 day eventful crossing from Vuda, Fiji leaving Weds 11:00 am and arriving into Opua, NZ 10:30 Friday am. Frig not working, bow thruster not working, cracks in the davit that holds the dingy up, small dent in the bow and teak from the anchor bashing when we were bashing even though it was very secured, major spring cleaning to do and a sense of accomplishment that is euphoric. We are next to Plan Sea, our buddies, and also Joanna is here as well. So far this is all we know. Praise the Heavens we are safe and sound. Thank you all for following our journey, your support has gotten us through the tough times, and now that we are safe, LET'S PARTY:):):)

We have finally got into the high and are now feeling some relief..it has been an extremely rough 2 days, yet I think we are in the clear now to finish our crossing to Opua. We have 150 miles to go and should be in port by friday afternoon. We will be getting some northerly winds that will pick our speed up and have a fabulous finish to a mixed bag crossing. Life is good and The Pair of Grins have their Grins back:):)

Just plan fking goofy..and that's the truth. We are about to come into a high so things should calm down by tomorrow midday or hopefully sooner. In the mean time we are holding on tight and the galley is closed...

Yesterday full sail, today no sails...The Pacific Ocean is now a giant swimming pool that our boat fits in...:) We're not swimming though...:) All is Grand on Board in the Grand scheme of things.

Winds ESE 10 knots, boat speed 5 1/2 knots, heading 195T, small waves, maybe 1/2 ft from E. We're full sail on a closed reach, having such a smooth ride, the wind directions are lovely really. We are a bull's eye in a 10 miles radius circle, which clearly portrays our planet's roundness. The water is so blue, and the skies are blue and white, my favorite combination...we have not seen a sail boat at all, yet we know some are out there:):):) All good on board...peace and quiet...fantastic.

The wings of The Peregrine B have landed in the North Bay of Waya named Nalauwaki. Its raining....yet this bay protects us from the 1 meter west swells, so is sure feels swell to be protected from the swells. Great internet here and having a fine rest.
