Another gorgous day, alas it was all under the iron genny. Now in Vitogo Bay outside Latoka. Moving to the tourist center tomorrow.
Yeah We have moved. Currently in Makogi. Neptune made us work and Mother Nature gave a a glorious sunset. Dont anchor in in a NW wind. Horrible surge / seas in the harbor. Luckily they calmed down over night .
Back at Paradise resort. Nice people - nice place.
Interesting place at Mission Inn Buca Bay
Viani Bay. Motored again from Buci.
Moved to ease the roll at anchor and avoid the bommies. Heavy rain yesterday. Now in SW corner.
What a deep bay. Motored all day from Cousteau.
Move out by Cousteu for 2 days while the wx is nice. Clean water, few sounds of the city.
Hanging in Savusavu finishing a lot of small projects. Unfortunately we've had rain, rain, and more rain. Just finished yesterday and looking for wx to enjoy more of Fiji
Moved to Musket Cove just off of Nadi. Getting ready to commit to the repairs on Elysium. Paint is ordered and is said to be here Friday, a Fiji Holiday! Ha Ha.
Moving to Vuda / Denarau to effect repairs. Currently in Pacific Harbor. Long day tomorrow with little wind to Robinson Crusoe Island.

Big storm in Suva harbor last night. Unpowered steel fishing boat dragged effecting 6 yachts. We were broadsided and cast off our main anchor and line. Some damage to paint on topside. We managed to power up and exit around the bow. Sahula (was hit right on the nose) lost their anchor windlass, anchor and chain, they report quite extensive damage. Second Wind anchor tangled up with Ms. Murphy and shoved on a shoal. Don't know all the damage there. Mr. Squid had a bit of damage and anchor / rode is on the bottom. Mega Yacht Encore was aground. With their huge engines they powered off and are moving somewhere. No substantial injures reported.
Expect to be anchored clearing customs in Suva this am. Approx 2 hours to RSYC. More motoring on this passage than any other in 10 years. The NZ wx really had it's digs in for us!

Merrily we motor along, motor along! Yuck. I would rather sail at 4 kts then motor a 6. This is like driving a caravan (RV) across country in first gear. Yuck.

Almost no wind through the night. Floating on the anchor, rolling some as the swell makes it across the reef. Not as bad as when we were in the Galapagos.

Gee, you guys must be locals
Moved to the NE corner for some wx. It wasn't fun. Singing in the rigging, bouncing all about during High Tide. Winds 30 kts gusting to 40 kts. Alll is well. The wx has passed.
Walked the reef again yesterday. The flow over was awesome with all the noise coming from the water falling into the lagoon.
Had a good Lobster fest with the RDM Whangarei crowd here. Gifts from another cruiser. We've not found or seen one here! More boat projects waiting on good wx to New Cal.
Getting a few projecst completed. Walked the reef yesterday. It is a good distance across and there is a during L tide a steady waterfall into the lagoon.
Yeah! The Sun! Blue Sky! Solar Power. Looking forward to some boat cleaning and clothes washing. Reading and bug hunting; that is getting a couple of lobsters.
Wow, Do I have IWS {Irritable Weather Syndrom}. Cloudy and rainy here last 24 hours! Yuck. And.... it is still not warm enough for us.
A little bouncy at high tide on N Minerva. Estimate plus or minus 2 hours of H.

Nice day today ... relaxing winds and us. 200 miles to Minerva. Two more nights!
In 35k miles of sailing yesterday was our worst. 2 fronts passed. Dealing with winds in the 30's from 10 am to 3 am. Damn tired now But the winds have finally shifted to aft the beam. Now we just roll more than we want from the old wave train.

Boisterous-Yes; Fun-No; Adventurous - Yes. A double reefed main and staysail doing 7.0 knots and an ugly sea. Can't wait to get North and motor!

Finally we made it through the H and we now have a lovely W breeze.
Leaving 8ish in am heading offshore.
Checked out, final boat preps, checking gribs.
The most difficult part of this trip appears to be the wait. Mother Nature is not cooperating and with a new TD we will simply....wait a bit more. Not wishing to be spanked on our trip to NZ.
Final prep for boat prep to NZ. As soon as the wx looks promising we will head to Vuda and check out.
Like us, still waiting.......
