We made the decision to detour to New Caledonia. We are not fast enough to get into Noumea before the gale so although disappointed not to arrive with our mates we are relieved not to be stressing over each knot of speed and a looming deadline. David's opinions were very useful! Cheers, Rebecca

current of 1 knot against us through yesterday pm and last night. We can't get into Opua before the Gale. We have slowly motored west through the night and are waiting to see if we can come in behind the Gale . Otherwise we will peel off to New Caledonia and wait for more favorable conditions. Cheers, Rebecca
