HDG 179 8 knots, WIND NE @ 5-15 variable, SW Swell 2 meters @ 10 secs, 50% Cloud Cover, 1017.1 HPa Barometer steady We're getting there! Unfortunately the beautifully consistent breeze died out this morning and now it comes and goes and we occasionally turn the motor on to help keep our progress up. As expected the breeze moved aft/northward which didnt help either. We are about 175 miles out from Opua and will keep pressing to make sure we get there before the bulk of the front arrives tomorrow afternoon. All is well and Happy Thanksgiving to all those in the USA!
Happy Thanksgiving Family

All is well! We are flying along down to NZ, happy that the breeze is holding and that the seas have laid down. Doing 8-9 knots in 13-16 knots of wind, one reef in main, full jib. We have 369 miles to Opua and about 400nm to Whangerei, and will shoot for a Saturday arrival, hopefully missing the small front. It is getting colder however, and we have discovered SOCKS again for the first time in 13 months. Keep Rolling FAMILY CIRCUS!

FAMILY CIRCUS is still rumbling along. We had a glorious 12 hours of sailing yesterday, as the sea lay down and we unfurled more sail. We were happily laying 8 and 9 knots down with the kids playing and fish for dinner. A bit bumpier this morning as a new big SW swell has come in to the mix, but nice steady breeze. All is well- Past Halfway!
At net time, and via relay as radio signal is grim, asked about the swells as every now and again a big one comes through from the southern depressions

On to Day Three! We have just completed our first 48 hours and have covered 389 miles in our first two days.. The winds and seas have abated and we have put Family Circus in to "Baby Turbo" mode. We've put up more sail and are sprinting along at 8.5- 9.5 knots with the wind on the beam. Go Circus Go! Bar 1014.3, Wind 15-18, ESE. 80% Cloud Cover

FAMILY CIRCUS is off to the races! We've had our first 24 hour run and clocked in at 198.13 miles- which is a great distance, especially since we were slowing the boat down to make it a bit more comfortable. Its still plenty bumpy and windy out here but all is well. We should have two more days of this rodeo and then the wind should abate, and hopefully the seas will space out a bit. All in all. we're happy with our progress so far and the boat and crew are doing great. CHRIS
Underway for 6 hours now. Seas have settled down a bit after a very bumpy start. Everyone is feeling better and we're cruising at 8 knots under double reefed main and full jib. We've all made bets on when we'll arrive. I hope I am right! Heading 225, 7-9 knots in 16-20 knots of breeze, 1008.5HPa
On standby, GREEN light for planned departure tomorrow at noon. Making final prep and enjoying our last afternoon with Shine and Fiji
